You Can Change the Story

And we need to change the story!

Years ago someone passed me the Story of Stuff video. I like it so much I passed it along to everyone I know.

Watch Story of Stuff video on YouTube (20 minutes, but very worth it!)

Last week I was introduced to the Story of Change video. Loved it, so passing it along also!

Boundaries, Barriers, and Limits, Oh My!

It is fun to talk about boundaries!

Every Wednesday folks ask questions on Facebook Heal Now and Forever Be In Peace which I answer in my blog on Thursday.

This week each question was about setting and or respecting boundaries. Check them out:

Do we need to set boundaries in our relationships? How do we do it and why? Isn’t that a limitation to love? How do we know we are not crossing someone’s boundaries?

Hi Jodi, I’m wondering how you organize your schedule to choose and make time for the many things you do. I have so many interests and commitments, how can I effectively manage and prioritize them all? I like structure, but I also like having room for choices. Continue Reading →

What Parts Of You Don’t You See?

Our mind is full of thoughts

What parts of you don't you see?

Human’s on average have 60,000 thoughts a day.  We can’t even register all of the thoughts that we have!

If we hold an identity of ourselves, for example: “insignificant”; an opinion about a person: “selfish;” or a certain view of the world: “chaos,” we notice and remember  the thoughts that go along with these definitions. We see our inadequacies, we see another person’s meanness, we see a world falling apart. And sometimes not much else. Continue Reading →

Remembering How to Really Love

Grandpa's eulogy: Anthony Julian. Remembering how to really love

Isn’t he the cutest?

This is an excerp from the eulogy I wrote for my grandfather who died a few years ago.  It is his birthday on May 8th. He taught us so much about love. This is a long post which I tried to edit, but it was too difficult to delete much–he meant so much to me. This post is dedicated to him.  Continue Reading →

Dear Mother Earth: Thank You!

Happy Earth Day 2012!

Dear Mother Earth,

Our Dear Mother Earth: Happy Earth Day!

Thank you for your colors, the “Disney” green of the moss, the deep blue of the sky, the stark white of the clouds. The red and purple in the setting sun.

Thank you for your plants.  They sustain us with food, give us medicine to heal our bodies, wood for our shelter, raw material for clothing. They provide our oxygen. They are our greatest teachers and make constant sacrifices for us, always willingly, purposefully. Continue Reading →

Why Eggs and Rabbits Are Associated With Easter

The Easter Rabbit

Yesterday I asked my 5500 fans on Facebook (Heal Now and Forever Be In Peace) who knew why the rabbit and eggs were associated with Easter and these folks gave some pretty great answers! All were correct! Continue Reading →

Found my <3 at the San Francisco’s Writer’s Conference

San fransciso's writer's conference

Obama and I ate here

I found inspiration last weekend at the San Francisco’s Writer’s Conference! The conference had us in workshops, meetings, meals, lectures, from 7 AM-11PM! (:( I didn’t get to see my good friends in SF: Amy, Brian and Stelli!)

I had an amazing time and learned more than I ever thought and spent this week busily putting it into place all of the great suggestions. I redesigned my blog thanks to fantastic suggestions from Rusty Shelton at sheltoninteractive.com) and Patrick Schwerdfeger (author of 80shortcuts) and the genius and patience of my web designer Dan Barnes at Enrollment Service. (To contact Dan, click the Enrollment Services link at the bottom of the page.)

Ask Jodi Your Questions!

I started this on my Facebook page: Heal Now and Forever Be In Peace.  On Wednesdays, people write in some questions and I do my best to answer them.I am not making predictions or telling the future, as I believe the future is uncertain and can be altered in a moment depending on small and large decisions that we make.  I answer questions about feelings, and relationships and healing, on how to think and make meaning of this crazy world that we are in.  Here are some examples: Continue Reading →
