Reinvent Yourself, Reclaim Your Soul

I have two announcements today. One is obvious! A new blog design featuring “Flirting” By Flora Bowley. I hope you all like it. I feel like it is simpler and more “me.” I learned through this process not to fix what isn’t broken. I almost threw the baby out with the bathwater. Once a name is associated with you, it is hard to change. “Heal Now” has become an extension of me and I decided to keep it.

Never fear, those of you who liked “Heal Here.” It will feature as a tagline in my counseling practice, as I move to blend my counseling practice with my blog identity.

Healing sex abuse retreat

Sexual Abuse Retreat

The second announcement is that I am hosting a “Reclaiming Your Soul Retreat” in Ithaca, NY. It is a healing retreat for people who have survived sexual abuse or sexual assaulted. It will be April 12-14, 2013. All are welcome! (Men, women, and partners, too.)

If you want more information don’t hesitate to contact me at jodiaman (at) yahoo (dot) com. I have so many clients who have been abused and realize that they may benefit from a group retreat where they can more quickly move along their healing journey. (you don’t have to be my client to come.)

Reclaiming Your Soul Retreat

The brand spanking new “Heal Now” design–thanks to the infinitely patient and talented Dan Barnes–has more of a welcoming flavor, I hope, which, as you can see from my Great Grandmother Frances, runs in my Italian veins.

My posts have been a bit focused on my design transition, as that has been occupying my mind lately. Back to the regular stuff later this week!

So… What do you think?

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I am SO happy that you didn’t change the title. I’ve been trying to “prepare myself” for this change and I just loved the way it was and is now.
The painting is so beautiful, and I love the “reclaiming your soul” header.
Everything is beautiful :) I love it <3

So much work. Dan is so easy to work with, he is a godsend, so it was fun this time. I wish I knew photoshop like he does. (I wish I could afford photoshop!) I hope you are enjoying the creative process.

    Hello, again, Jodi!

I see a Leo Buscaglia book listed as one that has inspired you.
He is also a favourite of mine, an old favourite, one I have not read for some time. I must get one of his books down off my shelf!

Thank you so much. here’s to continued success. And how do we measure success? By that one person, I guess. that one person who we’ve made smile.

I love the new header, super colours.

You did right sticking with the same title, read the title and people know it’s you.

How are the fonts? I stuck with the two. It is less busy since you saw it, we made some tweeks today to improve it more. It had looked too busy to me last night. Thank you, I feel good about the title!

  16. Bridget November 28, 2012 at 4:33 PM #

I love the new design! I want to capture it, frame it, and hang it in the house! Also, I’d always read it as “Heal now and forever, be in peace.” Instead of “Heal now, and forever be in peace.” Totally different meaning.

I was think of T-Shirts. :) I was surprised, a few more people mentioned this. What are the meanings?

      • Bridget November 30, 2012 at 8:23 PM #

Heal now and forever sounds like a mantra. Be in peace, is more of a greeting/farewell, like Be well. The other is heal now — and then forever be in peace.

        • Jodi Lobozzo Aman December 3, 2012 at 6:43 AM #

Thanks, I mean it as the command. If you heal now, (in the present moment) you can forever be in peace, by staying in the present. I never thought of it as a mantra! That is a new perspective!
