Today I have a special thank you.
I said an intention months ago that came true today. I believed it so readily in my heart, that things would work out, but I wasn’t sure if it was my American sense of entitlement, or my trust in love that made me so sure there would be a happy ending.
My soul sister from across the world left a dangerous situation and came to physical freedom. (Her name is Nikky44 and you see her comment on everyone of my posts. Fellow bloggers, you know her since she comments on many of your posts. Facebook friends, you see her on my page Heal Now and Forever. For a short while she wrote NIkky’s Strengths and Weaknesses.)
A special thank you
It was months of planning, coordinating, gathering support, hoping, and, for her, enduring heightened abuse. She and three kiddos are today free from physical abuse, safely in Canada. And will now embark on the journey to be emotionally free. So that she sees what I and her friends see in her: She is wonderful, innocent, exceptionally intelligent, kind, and wholly good.

Thank you for putting the chickens away? Are you on a farm or putting away grocery?
Yeah, I think thank yous are important too. Whenever someone cooks in the family, we tell the person thank you. Before the work is even done, we say it too.
And so glad to know Nikky’s finally in Canada. Now, she can especially be a light to other women who are in similar situations. Man, what a weight off. Now, the living really begins!

Jodi- Your daughter sounds super cute and very intelligent too!!! Her deep and mature sense of wonder is really something. What DOES thank you India and frailty mean? Where you able to answer her questions? I love that you and your husband thank each other and the kids for the little things. It’s the little things after all that matter in life. I’m grateful that you wrote about this because it makes me appreciate how my mom always thanks me for favors she asks or doesn’t ask me to do and it does make me feel acknowledged. Your entry has also inspired me to increase doing this for others without feeling that its excessive or unnecessary. On a separate note, I laughed out load upon reading the line about your uncertainty that things would work out, and not being sure if it was your “American sense of entitlement” or your trust in love that made you so sure there would be a happy ending. = ) Your honest and candid writing about your thoughts and experiences strikes me as humorous at times (in a very endearing way of course). Nikky 44 is a beautiful woman with a new story to commence writing. This is the story the world should be buzzing about. We ( and not me) since I am not privy to all the details should write an OP Ed piece to remind the world there is still love and compassion on this planet. Nikky – love from the Bay Area (although you had much from the wonderful, Linda. Jodi – beautifully stated. I hope the universe is listening.

Thank God that you are free now, Nikky44. And thank you for committing to your own healing, which can break the cycle for your children as well. Having once upon a time extricated myself from a violent situation, I know that it’s not easy to break the patterns of low self-esteem, but I am proof that it can be done. Thanks sweetie, I don’t think I did anything really just believed in someone really pure and smart and strong. That’s all I did from the beginning. But we just get each other and that makes it so fun and easy. Whatever I say usually fits for you! This has been such a pleasure to communicate with someone so like minded! I’ll keep being here!
