Happy Buddha Vesak Day!

May 5th is Buddhism’s holiest day this year. Buddha Vesak Day celebrates the birth, the enlightenment, and the passing of Buddha on the full moon.

Buddha Vesak Day, smiling Buddha

Let’s take a deep breath with all of that

Celebrate Buddha Vesak Day by taking a moment to be present with ourselves. Just right now. Rather than read something I write about my reality, find yours. Right now. Close your eyes and take 5 deep, slow breaths deep into your belly. When you exhale let all of your worries, tension, judgments go. You really don’t need them…

Go.

Feel better?

Do more. Guided Meditations

How will you celebrate Buddha Vesak Day?

Ah, breathing. So simple, yet sometimes so difficult to remember to do!

‘I breathe in, I feel peace. I breathe out, I let go.’

Why is it so hard for me?

Are you holding onto a fear? Fear and guilt restrict the breath more than anything!

Ahhh, much better now. Thanks! And I didn’t know about this important day–thanks for that, too!

I’m sorry, Jodi, but every time I see a Buddha, I think “Man, he’s jolly, but that extra weight is gonna give him a heart attack.”

Yes, I’m a little twisted. hehe

What better way to start off the weekend than with this simple exercise in breathing. I had no idea about Vesak Day. Wish it was more well known, instead of just focusing on Cinco de Mayo and all that beer guzzling. Thanks for sharing!
